Fertilization Applications incorporate organically enriched fertilizers with broad leaf weed and crabgrass control.  Our fertilizers are all natural and include micronutrients, which enhance the growth of beneficial soil organisms.  The result is a lawn care program that helps to develop turf that is more naturally resistant to disease, insects and weeds. A service package with a set number of applications specific to your property will be recommended.

Weed Control We use pre-emergence and post-emergent weed control in strict accordance with the principles of the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.  For maximum crabgrass control, we recommend both the Early Spring and Spring Applications with pre-emergence weed control.

Early Spring Application: an organic-based fertilizer with pre-emergence crabgrass control; generally applied in March or April.

Spring Application: an organic-based fertilizer with pre-emergence crabgrass control. It is generally applied in April or May. Broadleaf weed control may be applied, if warranted by the lawn’s condition.

Early Summer Application: a slow-release, organically enriched fertilizer and broadleaf weed control, and is generally applied in May or June.

Summer Application: a slow-release, organically enriched fertilizer and broadleaf weed control, applied in June or July.

Late Summer Application: a slow-release organically-enriched fertilizer with broadleaf weed control as needed. It is generally applied in July or August.

Fall Application: a slow-release organically-enriched fertilizer with broadleaf weed control; generally applied in August or September

Late Fall Application: an organically-enriched winterizing fertilizer designed to promote strong root development and early spring green-up. Our winterizing application can be applied anytime from September to October depending on our fall weather.
